GOLD drafts Penn State teammates King & Musselman

NOLA GOLD selected Penn State teammates Aidan King and Dalton Musselman in the Major League Rugby Collegiate Draf, a move that should add both power and versatility to the team’s roster going into the 2025 season.

  King, a 22-year-old flanker from Anchorage, was selected as the 6th pick in the first round. Standing at 6 feet and weighing 220 pounds, his rugby journey began at Anglican Church Grammar School in Brisbane, Australia. He played for his country’s QLD Reds U16 team in 2018, captained Churchie’s First XV in 2019, and competed with Wests Rugby Premier Colts in 2020.

  After moving back to the United States, Aidan continued to shine at Penn State. He played openside flanker for three years, earning numerous accolades along the way. Notably, Aidan was a Rudy Scholz Award finalist and made the Rugby East second team. He was named Penn State Rugby Team MVP the past two  seasons. His robust playing style and leadership skills should make him a solid addition the the GOLD.

  The GOLD picked Musselman, a 23-year-old fly-half from Coatesville, Pennsylvania, with the 8th pick in the second round. His rugby journey spans over a decade, with experience at both the national and club level. Standing at 5 feet 10 inches and weighing 195 pounds, Dalton. A strategic kicker and precise kicker, he honed his skills with the USA U23s and USA Falcons. He won national sevens championships with NAV Rugby in 2023 and 2024 and is expected to make an immediate impact at NOLA GOLD.
